Tours & Talkback Information and Policies

Tours
Learn the history of the second oldest regional theatre in the country and see what goes on behind the curtains with a History/Backstage Tour of Barter Theatre. See how a show is created by touring Barter Theatre’s rehearsal halls, costume shop and prop shop with our Production Tour. All of the Tours are conducted by Barter Theatre Staff and are approximately one hour long. Please note that both tours require walking and going up & down stairs. Handicap accessible tours are available.
Talkbacks
Spend approximately 15 minutes with the actors, designers or directors of the show you’ve just seen, and let your group get answers to their questions about the show from the insider’s point of view.

Did You Know...
Barter Theatre was founded in 1933 during the Depression, and its name came from bartering produce from the farms and gardens of the area to gain admission to see a play.
