Directions
Barter Theatre and Barter Stage II are located in downtown Abingdon, Virginia less than one mile off of Exit 17 of Interstate 81 in Southwest Virginia. Follow the signs from the interstate to the theatre.

Parking
- From Interstate 81, take Exit 17 and turn North onto Cummings Street (follow signs to Barter Theatre)
- At 2nd traffic light, turn right onto Main Street
- Unload passengers on the right side of Main Street for Barter Theatre, across from the theatre (just after the Martha Washington Inn's drive and before Partington Place); crosswalks are right there for passengers to cross street
- To park motorcoach or vehicle: immediately turn right onto Partington Place and left into Barter's parking lot adjacent to Barter Stage II and The Barter Café. Motorcoach parking is towards the back of the parking lot.
- Handicapped parking is available in front of both theatres and in our parking lot.

Did You Know...
Barter Theatre was founded in 1933 during the Depression, and its name came from bartering produce from the farms and gardens of the area to gain admission to see a play.
