How much are single tickets?

Tickets prices vary depending on the show and location of the seat. Tickets start at $20!

Do you offer any specialty packages?

Yes! We offer subscription packages as well as packages to fit your individual needs.

Can I select certain seats?

Yes! Ticket prices will vary depending on your choice of seating section..

I bought tickets but lost them. Can I get new ones?

Yes. If you purchased tickets and had them emailed to you, you can log into your Barter Theatre account and find them there. For more assistance, you can visit our Box Office in person and a Barter staff member will be happy to print them for you. We are able to scan tickets from your phone if you have saved your email.

Where do I pick up my tickets?

If you chose a will-call ticket, you will pick up your ticket at the appropriate box office (i.e., if you are seeing a show at Barter’s Smith Theatre, you will need to pick up your tickets at the Smith Theatre Box Office). If you chose print at home tickets, you will need to print your tickets and bring them with you to the show or save those tickets on your smart phone to be scanned at the theatre.

What is Barter Theatre’s refund policy?

Exchanges, or refunds in the form of Barter Theatre account credit, may be made up to 24 hours prior to the start of a purchased performance without penalty. To inquire regarding an existing reservation please use the Ticket Inquiry Form.

Parking

The Martha Washington Inn also offers parking to Barter patrons based on availability. The parking fee is $3.00 Monday through Friday and $4 on Saturday and Sunday. There is no parking fee for hotel guests. Also, customers of the Martha Washington Inn’s restaurant, lounge and gift shop on the day of their show may request to have the amount of the parking fee deducted from their bill at the time of payment.

Do you offer handicapped accessible parking?

Yes! Just look for the look for the marked spaces in our parking lot.

Accessibility

Is wheelchair seating available?

We dedicate specific seats in the house to be wheelchair accessible. You will want to look for the wheelchair icon on the seating chart when booking your tickets. If you have trouble, please call our box office, and a Barter Theatre staff member will be able to help you.

What hearing assistance options do you offer?

A hearing loop has been installed at both Gilliam Stage and Barter’s Smith Theatre to assist those with hearing aids or cochlear implants equipped with Telecoils. By request, FM Phonis headphones are also available at the gift shop for those hard of hearing.

Do you offer open-captioning?

Yes! Each show will have specific dates and times that will provide open-captioning. Please look at the show you’re interested in to find out when the open-captioning performance will be.

General

What time should I arrive?

We open the doors to the theatre 30 minutes prior to start time of every show, so you can find your seat as early as 30 minutes before show time. We encourage you to arrive with plenty of time for parking, as we have limited space. If you are late for the show, ushers will seat you in the most convenient location, at a respectful time during the show. 

Do you have a gift shop and concessions?

Yes! We have gift shops and light concessions at both Gilliam Stage and Barter’s Smith Theatre. Click here to learn more about our gift shops.

What should I wear?

Barter Theatre does not have a dress code, but many patrons choose to dress business casual. We encourage you to dress for the occasion, whatever celebration or night out you may be enjoying, but we want your experience to be comfortable. 

Can I take photos and video during the show?

No. Due to U.S. copyright laws, use of photography, video and other recording devices are strictly prohibited during all performances at Barter Theatre. We encourage you to take photos before and after the show and tag us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @bartertheatre and use #bartertheatre.

What else is there to do in Abingdon?

Abingdon is a historic and cultural town with a variety of shopping and local restaurants. We encourage you to explore Main Street, outdoor activities, artist studios and galleries, museums, wonderful dining and more!
